Acadiana Chapter - 82nd Airborne Division Association

Acadiana Chapter - 82nd Airborne Division Association

"Airborne All The Way!"

The Chapter's next meeting will be the 37th Annual Anniversary Banquet on Saturday, July 20, 2018 at Chef Roy's Restaurant in Rayne, Louisiana.

Welcome to the Acadiana Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Division Association. Membership is open to all Airborne or Glider qualified veterans and is not limited to those who served in the 82nd Airborne Division. The Chapter includes veterans from many different airborne units and eras of service ranging from WWII through recent operations in Afghanistan and Iraq (OEF/OIF). We welcome all Paratroopers and Airborne-qualified veterans to join the Chapter and enjoy the company of others who have put their "knees in the breeze."

The Acadiana Chapter has raised funds for and built two impressive monuments. The first is the monument to Vietnam War Medal of Honor recipient, Captain Stephen Logan Bennett, USAF. The second is a monument recognizing the "Louisiana Memorial Airborne Bridge" at mile marker 121 on Interstate 10 (15 miles east of Lafayette, Louisiana).

The Acadiana Chapter membership includes members from Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, and Arkansas.  Members include US Army, US Marine Corps, and US Air Force veterans who are jump qualified.  All are welcome!  Members' service includes the 82nd Airborne Division; 101st Airborne Division; 17th Airborne Division; 11th Airborne Division; 551st Parachute Infantry Battalion; 508th Airborne Regimental Combat Team; 173rd Airborne Brigade (Vietnam); USMC Force Recon; USAF Para Rescue; and numerous Special Forces Groups.  Their service spans WW II, Korea, Dominican Republic, Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, the Persian Gulf War, and Afghanistan and Iraq.

Membership in the 82nd Airborne Division Association is open to any Airborne or Glider qualified veteran - all Paratroopers are welcome to join! The Acadiana Chapter meets each month at Holy Cross Church, 415 Robley Drive, Lafayette, Louisiana. For more information, contact Chapter Chairman CSM (R.) John R. "Randy" Vidrine.
